4 Ways To Prevent Insulation Breakdown Of Cable Intermediate Joints

4 common causes of insulation breakdown of cable intermediate joints

(1) During the construction of the cable intermediate joint, the dust and impurities on each casing are not cleaned.

(2) Each insulating sleeve in the intermediate joint and air between the tube and the tube.

(3) The heat shrinkable tube of the intermediate junction box is unevenly heated during heating, resulting in poor sealing.

(4) Overvoltage caused by other accidents of the cable.

Four ways to prevent cable insulation breakdown

(1) In the construction of the intermediate joint, the dust and impurities on each casing should be cleaned with absolute alcohol, and try not to construct when the weather is bad.

(2) When heating the intermediate junction box heat-shrinkable tube, try to make it heat evenly, and slowly heat it from one end to the other to drive the air out of the tube.

(3) After the intermediate joint is completed, the self-adhesive tape with a pressure resistance of 10kV should be wrapped around the joint between the outer sheath of the intermediate joint and the outer sheath of the cable to seal the gap that may occur in the intermediate joint.

(4) Limit or eliminate the overvoltage caused by various faults in the neutral point ungrounded system, for example, the arc suppression ring at the neutral point.
