Insulated Joints Are Mainly Used In Oil And Gas Pipelines

With the increasing demand for energy in the world and the continuous development of oil and gas field development technology, high-pressure large-diameter pipelines have been gradually installed, and the corresponding high-strength X80 pipeline steel has been put into use. In order to increase the efficiency of medium transportation, the conveying pressure and pipe diameter of the pipeline are also increasing. The maximum pipe diameter has reached 1420mm and the conveying pressure has reached 15.7MPa. In this context, in order to meet the market demand, we need to produce large-diameter insulated joints that meet the requirements of conveying medium, reliable sealing and good insulation performance.

Insulated joints are mainly used in oil and gas transmission pipelines, which play an important role in sealing and preventing electrochemical corrosion in long-distance pipelines. In terms of its structure, it consists mainly of short sections, steel flanges, steel retaining rings, seals, insulation plates, insulating sleeves and filling insulation materials to form a complete closed system.

From the type of seals, there are three types of seal structures: O-ring seal, U-ring seal and "O-shaped + U-shaped" composite seal. Although the seal structure is different, they all have the same sealing principle. The sealing principle is as follows: under the action of the pre-tightening force applied by the outside, the sealing ring will be elastically deformed to achieve the required sealing force, and the medium in the pipeline is not leaked.
