What is the wedge wire screen ?

As a filtering element, wedge wire screen, know as the wedge wire silk screen or T-shaped screen , is manufactured by the welding of the surface wire and support wire with special techniques.

The surface were has a requirement of precise size ans is welded to the support wire with a precise clearance.

It have the flat mesh and cylindrical type in structure.

The wedge wire screen has two bases structure, one is flat mesh shape and the other is wire wrapped screen (johnson screen) , these two type can make out almost full shape ans size wedge wire filteration parts.

In filtration, the solids are blocked and deposited on the smooth surface, forming a filter cake which can block smaller solid particles. The unblocked tiny particles will not obstruct the V-shaped slot.

The inverted water(gas) clears the filter cake and dirts from the surface of the filter element.

filter element) and flat screen (sieve).
